Welcome to Grammar Lessons
Okay,
I will now use this as a way to help you become better acquainted with the English language.
Today's lesson: Loose Vs. Lose
Some unnamed person inspired this post as (s)he used the wrong form over and over. How do you know when to use loose and when to use lose?
Loose = not rigidly fastened or securely attached
Lose = bring to destruction -- used chiefly in passive construction
(both from www.m-w.com)
Other forms of loose include loosen, looser, etc...
Other forms of lose include lost, loser, etc...
I will be adding new grammatical additions on occassion, so if you have a grammar question you would like to see answered, add a comment here or write me at earcandycritic@yahoo.com.
