The Only Way I Measure Success
Is through comments others give me. take, for example, this person's e-mail about the review i wrote on mxpx and you have (possibly) heard too much about already.
this person wrote:
"MXPX has undergone a punk rock revival, and Panic is the result. They stripped every bit of gimmick and artificial sweetener from their brand of West Coast Punk. I couldnít be happier with their effort, and neither could the thousands of punks who have been looking for a new battle cry to sing as they raise their banner and fists in the air"
All their new cd contains is "gimmick and artificial sweetener". Their new cd is nothing like anything they've ever been before. This is the worst music review I've ever read in my entire life. This cd falls about 500 miles short of "punk" and there is no "revival" anywhere on this cd. I think maybe you need to actually listen to their older music and see that this isn't MxPx, this is new age bullshit. If you even bothered to listen to anything of theirs you'd know that this does not revive any of their old sound, but taken in what everyone sounds like now. You're review was bullshit, and anyone who honestly listens to MxPx would tell you the same.
ahhhh...it's good to know people pay attention. now i'll need to tackle some deep music so intellectuals will berate me and use the proper forms of "your" and "you're."
as you were.
p.s. i'm just about finished with the story i'm sending to birdtalk. keep your fingers crossed.
p.p.s. i have poison oak around my eye from doing yard work on saturday. it itches.
p.p.p.s. this blog is for josiah, who is cluing me in on the hot housing market in st. elmo.
